Liquid applied roofing solutions can help extend the life of structurally sounds roofs through their ability to eliminate many failure points associated with many aging low slope roofs. Water based liquid applied membranes and roof coatings were one of the first technologies for liquid applied roof waterproofing and still have significant importance in the market. Once proper repairs and preparation are completed the liquid applied membrane can be applied to the existing roof surface. A primer is required over existing epdm membranes.

This system is ideal when faced with a confined urban space numerous roof penetrations or restricted use of hot asphalt or heat welding. Due to their low hazards characteristics excellent uv stability and ease of application acrylic emulsions and polyurethane modified dispersions are becoming popular particularly in warm and moderate climate regions. These liquid applied membranes also known as fluid applied membranes can be applied over various substrates such as concrete brick wood mod bit tpo pvc epdm and many other surfaces. For most roof membranes and substrates a light rinse power wash of the surface is all that is required.
